Viticulture and Harvest

Machine harvested in the cool morning of the 26th February 2015 from the di Lusso Estate vineyard.

Winemaking

With the intention to make an easy drinking red, with the focus on preserving its strawberry and cherry aromatics, the wine was fermented at no greater than 24 degrees, with two gentle plunges of the cap each day, and was taken off skins before completion of fermentation.

The wine was settled in tank, without any barrel ageing.

Tasting Notes

A wine that can be chilled in summer, this Sangiovese has a very soft palate that makes for easy drinking. Cherry and strawberry are the primary flavours of our Vino Rosso, making it a great example of the lighter style of Sangiovese made for hot summer days in Tuscany… and Mudgee!
